Statement on "Lead-Free" Compliance by JFW Industries, Inc.
JFW (Indianapolis, IN) will comply with the ROHS Directive 2002/95/EC
by the deadline of July 1, 2006. Our primary obstacle is the solder
used in our production processes. We are currently evaluating
different solder alloys at each production process. Our goal is to
implement a solution by the end of 2005 and begin "lead-free"
production at the beginning of 2006. Our initial review of our
component vendors indicates that our supplier base will support our
"lead-free" plan.
We currently plan no changes in pricing and part numbering /
identification. Our goal is that all parts manufactured after a
specific date code (to be determined) will be "lead-free". Date code
information will be provided for products shipped from stock in order
to identify its "lead-free" status.
